Duvall’s Death announced on Facebook His wife, Luciana Duvall, shared an emotional statement confirming that he died surrounded by love and comfort.
She said, “Yesterday we said goodbye to our beloved husband, dear friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully, loved and comforted at home.”
He said, “To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything.”
“His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love of characters, a sumptuous meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything he had to his characters and the truth of the human spirit they represented. In doing so, he left something lasting and unforgettable for us all.”
Soon after the news came out, many Hollywood stars took to social media to honor the veteran actor.
Adam Sandler, who stars with Duvall in the 2022 film Hustle, shared an emotional message on Instagram.
He wrote on Instagram, “Super funny. Super strong. One of the greatest actors we ever had. A great guy to talk to and laugh with. Loved him so much. We all did. So many movies to choose from, he was great. Watch him when you can. Our condolences to his wife Luciana and his family and friends.”

Viola Davis, who appeared with Duvall in the 2018 thriller widowsSaid it was an honor to share the screen with him.
“I had the honor of working with you in Widows. I was in awe. I’ve always been in awe of your great portrayals of men who were both cool and dominant in their humanity. You were a huge symbol, in Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, To Kill a Mockingbird, Tender Mercies, The Apostle, Lonesome Dove etc. Greatness never dies. It lives on as a gift. Well, sir. Michael Keaton, who starred with Duvall in Ron Howard’s 1994 film paperRemembered him as a friend.
Sharing a photo of the actor, Keaton captioned it, “Another friend gone. Worked together and became friends. Spent a wonderful afternoon talking about horses on my front porch. He was the epitome of greatness as an actor. RIP RD.”
