Prabhas and director Hanu Raghavapudi are currently working on their upcoming film Fauji. It was initially said that the film would release on Independence Day this year; However, now it seems that the makers may have to skip that date and instead hit the theaters during Dussehra 2026.
Prabhas starrer Fauji to release on Dussehra 2026?
According to a recent online report, it is speculated that Prabhas is all set to hit the big screen with his period action drama Fauji. Reportedly, the actor is giving priority to shooting the film and is aiming to complete it in time for the Dussehra release next year.
As speculations continue regarding this new release date, an official update from the makers is still awaited.

Fauji is an upcoming period epic drama starring Prabhas in the lead role. The film stars the actor as a soldier of the Azad Hind Force and presents an alternate, fictional retelling of historical events.
The film will star internet sensation Imanvi in the lead role, starring veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Anupam Kher in lead roles. Initially, the film was expected to release during the Independence Day weekend.
In an earlier update, Seetha Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi had revealed that the team is planning to release the film in two parts, which will be followed by a prequel. He explained that the current film portrays one aspect of Prabhas’s character, while the second installment is expected to explore another perspective.
Prabhas’s work front
Prabhas was last seen in the lead role in The Raja Saab directed by Maruti. The horror-comedy drama revolves around a young man, Raja, who lives with his grandmother. When she starts having dreams about her husband, Raja sets out to investigate his grandfather’s past, eventually finding a haunted mansion inhabited by his grandfather’s spirit.
As Raja becomes a pawn in his grandfather’s ghostly scheme, he must break free and restore balance. Apart from the Rebel star, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar and others in lead roles. The film received negative response from both critics and audiences.
Looking ahead, Prabhas will also be shooting for Spirit this year. The police action drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga is scheduled to release on March 5, 2027.
