Actor Varun Dhawan talked about the challenges of shooting on Thursday border 2. The actor, who plays Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the film, revealed that he suffered a serious injury while filming a war scene.

Dhawan said that he suffered an injury to his tailbone and hairline fracture during the shooting. Although he is still recovering, he said the difficulties pushed his journey forward border 2 memorable.

“Worst injury I’ve ever suffered on Border 2. I broke my tailbone on a rock as I tried to avoid hitting the camera,” he captioned his post. He added, “It was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I suffered a hairline fracture on the tailbone, which I think I’m still healing from. Grateful to my team for helping me continue that day. I could barely walk, but we kept going. Grateful for the journey.”

Talking about the scene that led to Varun’s injury, actor Ali Mughal recalled in a press statement, “It happened during an intense fight scene. While shooting in the trenches, Varun was supposed to fall into the boxes, but instead he hit the wall, causing a serious injury to his lower back.”

He further added, “The shooting had to be stopped, and even when he returned in pain, he was determined to complete the scene. It really shows his dedication.”

The actor, who was playing his Pakistani counterpart in the same scene, added: “I learned a lot from him that day – the fight felt very real because we both went through immense physical pain, from the rocky surface to his injury. The appreciation the scene received proves that all the struggle was worth it.”

Despite facing heavy trolling before the film’s release, the actor later received appreciation for his performance. Addressing the criticism firstVarun had asked the audience to wait and evaluate his hard work on the big screen.

Border 2 is Varun Dhawan’s first war drama and for the first time in his career he is playing a real-life character. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is currently running in theaters and has earned more than Rs 200 crore at the box office.
