Honor Magic8 RSR Porsche Design goes official

Honor has officially unveiled the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design in China alongside the Magic8 Pro Air. The new additions expand the Magic lineup, joining the Magic8 Pro and Magic8, which debuted in October last year.

Like previous Honor RSR Porsche Design models, the latest Magic8 variant features a distinctive design with styling cues inspired by Porsche supercars. It also has a nano-ceramic rear panel, which Honor claims offers a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5.

Additionally, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design is said to be 10% lighter than its predecessor. Notably, the camera module design is inspired by the matrix headlights seen on classic Porsche models.

It gets a 6.71-inch quad-curved LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and offers a peak HDR brightness of 6,000 nits. The display also supports Dolby Vision and 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It is protected by huge rhino glass.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and is available with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs Android 16-based Magic UI 10.0 with multiple AI features.

In terms of camera, the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design gets a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main rear sensor with f/1.6 and OIS. For ultrawide shots, the phone offers a 50MP sensor with a 122-degree field of view and also supports macro photography. For zoom, there is a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with f/2.6 aperture, OIS, and 3.7x optical zoom.

Honor says that the phone has received a CIPA 6.5 rating for stabilization for the first time. It also has support for the AiMAGE color engine and Nox’s external 200mm telephoto lens.

For selfies, there’s a 50MP sensor housed inside a pill-shaped cutout on the front, which also includes a 3D depth camera for face unlock.

The phone packs a 7,200mAh battery that supports 120W SuperCharge (wired) and 80W wireless charging. Other features of the phone include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor, IP68/IP69/IP69K rating, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC. Its weight is 239 grams and thickness is 8.45 mm.




The Magic8 RSR Porsche Edition is available in Moonstone and Slate Gray color options. The base variant, which offers 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, is priced at CNY 7,999 ($1,150). Meanwhile, the 24GB/1TB model is priced at CNY 8,999 ($1,290).
