Actor Shah Rukh Khan snatches the phone of a fan who was trying to take a selfie on stage during the Joy Awards in Riyadh. Reacting to the viral video, fans defended Shahrukh by insisting that he was only following the protocols.

In the video, Shah Rukh is seen smilingly taking the phone from a fan, motioning him to look at the professional cameraperson. After handing back the device, another person comes in for the selfie, with the actor again directing them to face the camera. He then presents the man with a trophy, and they both smile as they pose for photographers.

The clip was shared with the caption, “A video from the Joy Awards in Saudi is going viral online, where a fan tried to take a selfie with Shah Rukh Khan, and Shah Rukh gently snatched the phone away. While some are calling it arrogance, others feel such moments are often misunderstood. In crowded, high-security events, even small interactions can look different from what they are. Expressing displeasure at people trying to take selfies, one fan wrote, “Are they idiots? He’s telling them someone else will take the picture. That way the award can also be seen… They’re not clear enough to see something so obvious.”

Another fan commented, “SRK was following the protocol of the event wherein he has to click an official picture while presenting the award to the honoree. However, people got excited to be in the same stage and frame with SRK and started taking personal selfies. He simply stopped them from doing so and fulfilled his obligations. No need to troll him for doing his duty.”
