Raja Saab (Hindi) collected Rs. It grossed around Rs 4.50 crore on its second day at the Indian box office, which is a decline of around 20 percent from the opening day. Part of this decline stems from the fact that the stomach was bloated by feeding on the first day, while the second day was presumably left untouched. The second, more worrying factor is the mixed reception, which has impacted its performance.
The total two-day box office collection of the film was Rs. 10 crore nett. The first weekend will probably be Rs. Will be around. 15 crores nett. Both the numbers and even more so the trend are weak. The film will mostly be out of theaters after running for just one week.
Prabhas has got success at the Hindi box office since his debut with the film Baahubali. However, that success has been largely limited to the action genre or films with a devotional or religious background. Apart from these two, he has failed to score, first with Radhe Shyam and now with The Raja Saab. Although the film is an entertaining take on the fashion horror-comedy genre, which is staged on a grand scale, the comedy didn’t really deliver in the trailers. This being a Southern genre comedy is probably the holding factor.
There is huge cost involved in the film. Although the original Telugu version should have done the heavy lifting, improvement is impossible without a good Hindi performance, and that has not happened. As mentioned, the Telugu version has also not performed well, having a poor opening day and then a massive decline on the second day as well.
