On January 2, Genelia D’Souza appeared on Soha Ali Khan’s YouTube podcast to share her perspective on children’s nutrition, focusing on the role of ghee in their diet. This conversation stems from an ongoing discussion among parents about balancing traditional fats with modern health considerations. The actor explained that his decision to limit ghee came from personal experience, noting his family history of cholesterol issues.

She said, “Ghee was never a huge part of my diet. I have always been more conscious because my family has cholesterol issues. Be it non-vegetarian food or anything else, it was always in my mind, I didn’t want to overdo it.” This approach influenced how she managed her children’s conventional fat intake.

She also answered questions about giving up ghee and butter, saying, “I enjoyed ghee and butter a little bit, but only in small portions. So when I finally gave it up, it wasn’t a big deal,” while acknowledging the sensory appeal of ghee: “I know it’s very tasty and it smells amazing.” His comments reflect a personal preference for restraint rather than a ban.

Genelia then answered questions about not giving ghee to her children and clarified that she is not “clogging their arteries” and strongly believes that moderation is the key.

Fun The actor stressed the importance of eating mindfully and forming healthy habits early in life. He commented, “We start forming habits early. You can’t keep feeding children excessive amounts of certain foods and then expect them not to suddenly become overweight and go to the gym later in life. This has to be understood.”

Meanwhile, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh are parents to sons Riaan and Rahil.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor returns to films with Aamir Khan in 2025 Stars on the ground.
