Border 2: Sunny Deol refreshes old memories of patriotism in Ghar Kab Aaoge
The makers of Border 2 unveiled the reimagined song Ghar Kab Aaoge in Jaisalmer. The emotional tribute honors Indian soldiers while connecting heritage with modern voices.

creator of border 2 Much awaited song unveiled When will you come home At a grand event in Tanot, Jaisalmer on Friday. The iconic track, which originally featured in the 1997 war film Border, has been reworked to retain its emotional essence while adopting richer, more soulful tones.
The video features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh and others in an inspiring visual narrative. The presentation reflects longing and sacrifice, exploring a deep sense of belonging and patriotism while honoring Indian soldiers.

While the original version was sung by Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod, the new interpretation brings together their voices with those of Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Diljit Dosanjh, who also lend their voices to the character they play in the film.
Speaking at the launch, Sunny Deol, who reprized his role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri, reflected on the deep emotions he has experienced over the years in the song. Varun Dhawan shared that he grew up listening to this song and feels the emotional weakness among Indians whenever it is played.

For Ahan Shetty, the moment was especially meaningful, as his father, Suniel Shetty, had performed on the song in the original film, making this version a tribute as well as a redefinition of the legacy.
Whereas When will you come home While some iconic lines from the original have been retained, the rest of the song has been rewritten to resonate with today’s audiences. The music is unchanged and continues to be composed by Anu Malik, who is duly credited for the composition.
Directed by Anurag Singh, border 2 It is expected to release as a major Republic Day offering this year. Produced by JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, it will hit the screens on January 23.
