Actor Naseem shared that initially he refused to do Dhurandhar’s disturbing attack scene with Ranveer Singh due to fear and nervousness.

Actor Naseem, who plays Luli in the Ranveer Singh starrer, has revealed that he initially refused to do the sexual harassment scene involving Ranveer’s character Hamza, not because of the role, but because of the fear and nervousness of doing such an intense scene in front of an actor whom he admired immensely.

I was very nervous after reading the scene. I am a big fan of Ranveer Singh. I was also thinking that he is such a big star, how will I do this with him?” He also told the assistant director that he did not think he could do the scene.
However, things changed when Ranveer Singh personally reached out to her before the shooting. That one conversation, Naseem said, helped calm his nervousness and gave him confidence. He said, “Ranveer sir called me and he talked to me.” He further added, “All the love and appreciation I am getting for my work here is because of the team of Dhurandhar.”
According to Naseem, Ranveer’s behavior on the sets completely broke the sense of fear and hierarchy that existed in his mind. “He doesn’t make you feel like you are working with a star. He comes with great energy and he passes that energy on to his co-actors as well. He is very down to earth. The way he hugs you makes you feel comfortable instantly.”
Once that spontaneity was created, Naseem was able to focus completely on the character without holding back. Ranveer also helped her stay true to the character during the scene. “He talked to me about the character, and if I was going out of character, he would bring me back.”
The scene was ultimately shot twice, with the team carefully adjusting the performance to strike the right balance. Naseem said, “The character is a bit sensual and cruel. In the first take, it looked too cruel, so we toned it down in the second take.”
In the film, Luli is shown as a member of Babu Dacoit’s gang and plays an important role in the series of events that follow. His actions lead Hamza to Akshay Khanna’s character Rehman the dacoit, who later kills Luli in broad daylight on the streets of Lyari. Luli is also responsible for the death of Rahman’s son, which ties together several stories.
