Bha Bha Ba, starring Dileep in the lead role, was released in theaters on December 18, 2025. Directed by debutant Dhananjay Shankar, the film featured Mohanlal in an extended cameo as Gilli Bala, a gangster and Thalapathy Vijay fan.

Speaking to Ginger Media, the team said, “After hearing the script, Mohanlal sir said, ‘Vijay will be very happy to see this.’ Lleyton was thrilled to play the role. He understood exactly what the film was about and he fully supported it.”
The team particularly highlighted one scene from the film which alludes to Vijay’s iconic film Gilli, explaining how ‘excited’ the superstar was to play the character.

Bha Bha Ba is an action-comedy film starring Dileep in the lead role. The film is based on a mad thug named Radar, who kidnaps Kerala Chief Minister CK Joseph by giving him a drink laced with laxatives.
The Chief’s own son, NEA officer Noble, becomes the investigating officer, while a small group of experts work with him as double agents. As the story unfolds, the Chief Minister’s past relationship with the thug is exposed, leading to some touching, ridiculous and illogical moments.
Apart from the CID Moses actor, the film also stars Vineeth Sreenivasan, Baiju Santosh, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Sandy Master and many others in lead roles. Additionally, Mohanlal, SJ Suryah, Salim Kumar, Riyaz Khan and others play cameo roles.
Mohanlal’s work front
Mohanlal will next be seen in the Telugu-Malayalam bilingual film Vrishabha. Directed by Nand Kishore, the fantasy action film tells the story of a businessman who starts dreaming of his past life as a king, who fights against a rival who happens to be his son in the present day. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on 25 December 2025.
Looking ahead, the superstar recently completed the shooting of his much-awaited film Drishyam 3. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the crime drama thriller continues the story of Georgekutty. The film is likely to release in summer 2026.
