Market conditions
Gift Nifty (earlier SGX Nifty) signals a positive start.
Nifty futures traded up 95 points at 24,340 on the gift.
Tech View
As per long term chart Nifty remains strong and upside momentum can be expected to resume soon after consolidation movement. Immediate support is at 23980. Nagaraj Shetty of HDFC Securities said, the next upside resistance will be seen around 24400.
India VIX
The India VIX, a measure of fear in markets, settled down 1.4% at 13.64.

Oil rises
Oil prices rose in early Asian trade on Wednesday after industry data showed a bigger-than-expected draw in US crude stockpiles, boosting hopes for solid fuel demand during the summer driving season in the top oil-consuming nation.
Brent crude oil futures were up 16 cents, or 0.2%, at $85.60 a barrel by 0033 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 14 cents, or 0.2%, to $82.95 a barrel.
