Nag Ashwin recalls his struggling days with ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ makers Swapna, Priyanka
Nag Ashwin took to Instagram to recall his struggling days with his wife-producer Priyanka Dutt and producer Swapna Dutt. He revealed how his debut film ‘Yevade’ was a risky film for his production house Vaijayanti Movies.
Director Nag Ashwin is extremely happy with the widespread acclaim and commercial success his latest magnum opus ‘Kalki 2898 E.D.’ has received. The success of the film prompted Ashwin to express his heartfelt gratitude to producers Swapna Dutt of Vaijayanti Movies and Priyanka Dutt. For those who don’t know, Nag Ashwin is married to Priyanka Dutt. The Dutt sisters are daughters of renowned Telugu producer Ashwini Dutt.
In this emotional post, Ashwin wrote a heartfelt message in which he thanked producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt for their unwavering faith and support throughout the journey of the film, and also wrote about how they struggled to raise funds for his first feature film – ‘Yevade’.
He wrote, “About 10 years ago, the three of us started our first feature film together “Yevade”… Vaijayanti was very depressed at that time and the film was a risky one.”
