Actor Preeti Zhangiani recalled how Shah Rukh Khan’s humility and support on the set of ‘Mohabbatia’ had a permanent impact on her. He shared that SRK never behaved like a superstar and even helped to remove the struggle during the song ‘Soni Soni’.

Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster ‘Mohabbatia’ not only introduced many new faces for Bollywood, but also left a permanent impression on him beyond the screen. Preity Zhangiani, who made her debut with the 2000 film, recently shared that working with Shah Rukh came out a crash course in humility, something that she still continues to take with her.

In an interview with India Today Sister Channel, Lallantop CinemaPreeti shared how SRK’s ground nature was standing out during shooting. “Sometimes, I would see Shah Rukh Khan sitting in favor and talk to a spot boy, and she must be asking her about her life and she must have been sitting on the floor. There was no special chair for her with her name,” she said.

The actor explained that while not all the stars behaved in the same way, Shah Rukh’s simplicity made him acceptable. “He never felt us that we were working with a superstar because he was with us. He is a very attractive person, so he attaches you very well. He went to the extra mile for us, and he would spend time with us. Even when he wanted to give us something, or some advice, he would not frame,” he said.

Preeti also remembered Lip-link during the song ‘Soni Soni’ By the time Shah Rukh stepped into help. “He came to me and told me that you sing songs. I will not sing because I had a deep voice. I will be very conscious about it. He asked me to go and sing loudly to sing. He said that the camera catchs everything, if you sing loudly, it will show it on the screen. Then I sang loudly, and the shot was fixed,” he shared.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, ‘Mohabbatia’ brought Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan together in memorable roles, while introducing new people Preity Zhangiani, Kim Sharma, Shamita Shetty, Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shirgil, and Jugal Hansraj. The film became one of the biggest hits of 2000, with her intimate music and romance and is still remembered as a classic Bollywood love story.
