Tikkok may soon see a major change in its American operations, as the report states that the company is preparing to launch a new version of its app for American users. The step comes as part of the ongoing efforts to meet the requirements of a new American law aimed at limiting the impact of foreign -owned technical platforms, especially those associated with China.
According to the information, bytedance-Tiktok’s China-based parent is working internally on the name of “M2” on an updated version of the firm-app. The report claims that Tikoko is planning to push this new app on the US app store on 5 September, asking users to slowly move. The current Tiktok app can be functional by March 2026, but users will need to switch before the time limit to continue using the platform.
The update comes amidst increasing pressure from US MPs and political leaders, who have expressed concern over the national security risks associated with Chinese technical firms. US President Donald Trump, who played an important role in the earlier efforts to push Tiktok out of the Chinese control, recently said that the US is “too much” on the verge of finalizing a deal. He said that talks with China about the future of the app are expected to begin this week.
While Tikok has not officially commented on new apps or sales talks, reports suggest that a group of US-based investors led by Oracle is close to reaching a deal to achieve American operations of Tikok. Under this scheme, bidens will still hold a minority stake, while majority controls will be transferred to non-Chinese institutions, satisfying the conditions set under the new protection Americans from the anti-foreign controlled application Act.
This is not the first time such a deal has been proposed. After raising the objections after China, the earlier attempt to shut down the US business of Tikok, after the decision to put standing tariffs on Chinese goods, especially the Trump administration. With geo -political stress still in sports, any new agreement will require approval from the Chinese government – something that can delay or derail the process.
Meanwhile, the bidence is preparing a backup strategy. The new M2 app will provide the same experience but under a separate operating structure, it will suit new legal requirements. According to reports, when the M2 is launched, the original Tikkok app will eventually be removed from the US App Store. The switch is being planned in such a way that users do not cut immediately, but they will eventually have to download and transfer to the new version.
Connecting this development, the Wall Street Journal reported that Oracle has signed a unique agreement with the US federal government, providing significant discounts on its cloud software. The move can add leverage to Oracal Deal, especially the cloud infrastructure will possibly be central for sale after the operation of the app.
Despite the Lump Deadline and the political back and forth, Tikokkok has only been unlikely unavailable in the US-one day shutdown earlier this year. But as the exit and pressure increases over time, the bidens moves rapidly to stay in the market through restructuring and technical adjustments.
