One of the most prominent figures in Slege Stone, Slea and The Family Stone’s frontman and contemporary music died at the age of 82 on Monday. The trailblazer was observed for a combination of Funk, Sol, Rock and Psychideia, in the 1960s sounds and the 70s style-defying songs such as everyday people, family.

His pracharak, Carleen Donovan, confirmed that Stone died in Los Angeles, surrounded by his family, after a prolonged illness associated with chronic resistant pulmonary disease and other complications.

A diverse band for a split era

In the late 1960s, Slea and The Family Stones were not only musical but also socially on the ground – the first major band to present black and white men and women together. With energetic horn, infectious grooves and inclusive messages, his music reflected both optimism and turmoil of the time.
