For the information of Unity State, on Wednesday, the Minister of Ekta State said that an aircraft to the north of South Sudan is killing at least 20 people, which has confirmed only one. “The aircraft crashed 500 meters from the airport,” Gatweak Biple both told AFP by phone.
“21 people were on board. For now, there is only one survivor.”
The minister said the minister, a South Sudani engineer, who is working in the oil field, was rushed to Bentiyu State Hospital, the minister said.
He said that the Ukrainian passenger aircraft, chartered and light air services by the Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC), was on a regular mission for the region.
“The state government is in a deep grief with this accident”, he said that there would be an investigation.
“Although most people predicted that it could be a mechanical collision,” he said, without giving more details.
All passenger GPOC employees are: 16 South Sudani, two Chinese citizens and 1 Indian, according to the manifestation seen by AFP, were confirmed by local authorities.
Pictures shared on social media showed uprooted aircraft in an area, debris spread throughout the region.
In some images – which AFPs have not been able to verify independently – a body can be seen jumping from the debris torso.

The surcharge of aircraft is common in South Sudan, and it is believed that an Antonov aircraft in Juba contributed to the 2015 accident in which 36 people were killed.
