X launched new community notes tests to highlight the posts that everyone likes
X is testing the convenience of a new community notes, aimed at spotlighting posts liked by people with different ideas, using an open-source algorithm developed through the reaction and contributor ratings.

X, platform, earlier known as Twitter, has started testing a new experimental feature within its community notes program. The purpose of this pilot is to identify posts that are liked by those who usually have different approaches, shared understanding and effort to promote the bridge divisions. The new test declared through the official community notes account makes the original concept of community notes-user-controlled references on them that receive credibility when it is generally found to be helpful by disagreeing people. The team behind the initiative says that they have received requests for similar facilities as community notes were launched for the first time.
“Community notes show when they are found to be helpful by those who disagree in general,” reads the post. “What if we can do this even for the post, can identify posts that are liked by those who disagree in general?”
The company has now started a small -scale testing of this idea. A selected group of contributors of community notes in the United States, which represents a wide range of approaches, will begin to see the callout sometimes on the post. These callouts appear on the basis of initial and limited, like signs, and invite contributors to provide rates and feedback.

This rating will play an important role in developing an open-source algorithm, which aims to identify the material appreciated in ideological lines. According to the X, the algorithm is currently “extremely simplified”, which is similar to the early versions of the community notes scoring systems. It checks if a post has been seen by many users, whether it has received a positive rating, and whether it survives negative people.
Over time, X hopes that the algorithm will develop through community input and contributing response. The code for the algorithm is publicly available on Github, taking into account the purpose of the platform, “publicly constructed”.
Importantly, the company has clarified that neither the appearance of the callout nor the contributor rating currently affects the visibility of a post or reaches the stage. However, this can change depending on the reaction and the pilot’s success. If the system proves to be reliable in spotting the resonance resonating with people of different backgrounds, it can eventually be used to highlight such materials more prominently.

The pilot follows the same serial rollout strategy used for original community notes, which begins with a small contributor base and expands over time. When successful, this feature can give a new way to surface content that brings people together – instead of separating them.
