Importance of Dhanteras
Dhanteras is celebrated two days before Diwali, and is considered a lucky day for shopping, especially items that symbolize wealth and prosperity, such as gold, silver, or simple household items. Dhanteras, or Dhantrayodashi, falls on the thirteenth day of Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartik. On this day, people worship Lord Dhanvantari and Mother Lakshmi, and invite blessings of health and fortune into their homes.
