Kate Winslet doesn’t want to reveal her retirement plans just yet. While the actress is preparing for her Big Lie release, she is busy promoting her upcoming war film, which also stars Andy Samberg. During her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Winslet opened up about keeping her retirement plans a secret.
The actress simply said that she is never looking forward to getting older. The talk show host also pointed out that the Oscar-winning actress did not work in any film last year, after which discussions started about the Titanic actress’ retirement plans.
Responding to Colbert’s question on her retirement thoughts, Winslet revealed, “I don’t think I can reveal what I would do because it’s too inappropriate. No, I can’t.” The host then added that the actress could just whisper it in his ear. To this statement, the actress quipped, “No, I actually can’t because it’s rude and sexual, so I can’t reveal it.”
The actress’ answers sparked laughter in the studio, as she added, “Listen, I will never grow old! That’s all I have to say right now. There’s no talk of retirement for me.”
In her new film Lee, the actress will play Lee Miller, a former Vogue cover girl turned war photographer. In addition to playing the lead role, Winslet has also joined the film as a producer.

The Divergent actress told the talk show host that she always had a brief idea about Lee Miller. When she planned to work in the photography film, the Hollywood star met Lee Miller’s son Anthony, who proved to be a great source of information for the upcoming film.
The actress said, “I went to meet him and got out of my car and he put his arms around me and said, ‘You know, ever since Titanic I’ve always hoped that if there was a movie made about my mom that you would play her?’” She added, “I thought, ‘Well, can I believe this?’ But he was absolutely wonderful.”
Lee is scheduled to release in theaters on September 27.
