He said, “I feel like it’s one step at a time, crossing a little bit of ground with each opportunity, with each film, character and new project in my career. But I still feel like I have a lot to give. I’m still a work in progress.”

Verma prefers to devote himself completely to one project at a time rather than juggling multiple commitments. He cited his latest series, Matka KingAs an example of this approach. “I enjoy doing the work I do and I have decided to dedicate a lot of my time and energy to it. So, I do one thing at a time. We prepared for about two months and then shot for the next ten months. So, for that one year, I was just doing Matka King“they shared.

Considering his extensive work on streaming platforms, we asked if he can be considered the King of OTT. Varma said with a laugh, “I’m enjoying it, but gully boy It happened and the next year we had a lockdown. I had eight releases, five of which were released during that time. Everything went to streaming. Since then, I have been releasing two or three every year and, somehow, they have got good audiences and a lot of love. So, my belly and hands are full with lots of exciting projects.”

The actor also stressed that he is in no rush to meet deadlines or external expectations. He said, “I’m not in a hurry to get anywhere in life. I want to enjoy where I am, enjoy every moment of it and give everything I have to what I’m doing.”

Matka King premiered on April 17, and here’s an excerpt from India Today’s review of the show: “Performance-wise, this is Vijay Varma’s playground. He slips into multiple versions of Brij: ambitious, vulnerable and even ruthless, with effortless precision. Kritika Kamra brings softness, though her role feels underwritten, while Sai Tamhankar comes across with quiet strength. Siddharth Jadhav, Jamie The supporting cast, including Lever and Gulshan Grover, add texture to the narrative without being overwhelming.”

The series stars Kritika Kamra, Gulshan Grover and Jamie Lever in supporting roles, and was released on Prime Video.
