Vettaiyan box office day 10: Big growth for Rajinikanth’s film on second Saturday
Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan, which fell immediately in the first week, gained some momentum at the box office in the second weekend. The film is now aiming to earn Rs 150 crore in India.
Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan saw an increase in its collections on the second Saturday at the box office. According to trade website reports, the film almost doubled its collection from the second Friday and earned Rs 4.25 crore nett in India, taking the total to Rs 129 crore in 10 days. Sacnilk,
The film took an opening of Rs 31.7 crore during the Dussehra weekend, but after that the collections continued to decline drastically. So much so that on the second Friday it recorded its lowest single-day business in India with Rs 2.6 crore. However, the second weekend definitely brought gifts for the fans as audiences flocked to the theatres.

Directed by TJ Gnanvel, the film is based on the subject of encounter killings in India. Vettaiyaan was extensively promoted before its release and showed great potential at the box office. The film grossed approximately Rs 122.15 crore in its first week, of which approximately Rs 105 crore came from the Tamil market alone.
It will be interesting to see whether it now reaches the Rs 150 crore benchmark by the end of its second weekend. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati in pivotal roles, the film has been praised for its thoughtful content. Actually, the makers are thinking of making a prequel of the film focusing on Anthony’s role.
