Harish Shankar said that he welcomes feedback, but not trolling from random accounts. He said, “TRollers are free to troll anything, I take constructive criticism. Like, ‘The scene was not written very well’ or ‘It could have been written better,’ ‘The first part was a bit slow’… I will take constructive criticism.’
The filmmaker also told how he Anonymous does not take trolling seriously, given that they often hide their identity due to insecurity. He stressed that he takes responsibility for his work but finds it unproductive to engage in baseless criticism.
“If I say something, I take accountability and responsibility for it. It’s not like when people throw stones in the dark. The way I was trolled, I would have left Twitter (now X) long ago. “I don’t care about trolls or collection people,” he said.
The director said that if trolls use abusive language or cross any limits, he blocks them or reports them. Reflecting on his journey, he said that initially even his parents were skeptical about his decision to work in films.
