Food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato have become an essential part of our lives. However, it seems that foodies are not too happy with the recent change introduced by both the platforms. According to reports, Zomato and Swiggy have increased the platform fee to ₹10 amid the festive rush. But this decision was not liked by the customers. He said that due to rising costs, it is becoming difficult for customers to continue ordering as it has become very expensive.
One user wrote, “Swiggy has also increased the platform fee to ₹10. This happened right after Zomato’s rise. Food ordering started with free delivery, now GST, delivery & packing charges, platform charges. Zomato and Swiggy handle 3.5 million orders per day.

An X user noted, “Both #Swiggy and #Zomato have started charging ₹10 platform fee. I was surprised to see a huge jump from ₹6 to ₹10 on Swiggy, which will definitely boost Zomato’s profits in the next quarter. However, after checking Zomato, I realized that this increase is temporary, likely to cash in on the festive season demand. “Nevertheless, these tech-driven, asset-light platforms continue to generate substantial profits.”
