Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun always aims to impress people on stage and that is exactly what happened at the annual event today. The company showed off new foldables and also introduced several new wearables – a premium sports watch, a cheap but capable smart band, and comfortable TWS buds.
Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport
This is a premium watch priced at CNY 2,000 ($275/€250/₹23,000). It has a titanium body and sapphire glass. It comes with a choice of four straps: fluoroelastomer, silicone, braided, and titanium Milanese.
These are suitable for different sports – the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport can dive up to 40 meters (130 feet), has been tested by PADI and has received the EN13319 diving certification. Xiaomi has also partnered with watch maker Suunto for sports tracking algorithms (such as measuring lactate threshold).

For outdoor training, it supports five GNSS constellations with dual-band reception. It also has offline map capability and you can leave your phone at home thanks to the eSIM.

We mentioned the sapphire glass on the front, here’s what’s underneath it – a 1.43” OLED display with a maximum brightness of 2,200 nits for outdoor readability. Xiaomi managed to fit a surprisingly large 586mAh battery inside (the Watch S3 has a 486mAh battery) and claims up to 15 days of battery life.

The heart rate and blood-oxygen sensors at the back are also protected by sapphire glass. Xiaomi claims that the sensors achieve 97.2% accuracy. An interesting feature is that the on-board NFC can act as your car keys (only works on select vehicles).
Xiaomi Band 9
If you’re more of a watch freak, the Xiaomi Band 9 starts at CNY 250 ($35) for the base model, with the NFC version costing CNY 300 ($42). The regular band has a metal body, but there’s also a ceramic special edition available for CNY 350 ($48).
The band is available in four colors — pink, black, white, and blue — and you can customize its look with a quick-change strap.

The Xiaomi Band 9 promises up to 21 days of battery life, which can go up to 9 days with Always On Display mode enabled. It has a linear motor and 20 vibration modes to choose from.
Xiaomi says it has improved the accuracy of the heart rate sensor by 16% over the previous generation. Plus, it has worked with Peking University Third Hospital to better detect breathing problems while sleeping. And if you opt for the NFC version, the band can also function as a car key.

The Xiaomi Buds 5 use a “semi-in-ear” design and the company says you can barely feel them in your ear when you wear them. Each bud weighs just 4.2 grams but can last up to 6.5 hours on a single charge (total listening time with the case is 39 hours).

The buds support Qualcomm’s aptX lossless audio codec (up to 2.1Mbps) and have been tuned by the Harman AudioEFX team. There is active noise cancellation and AI noise reduction for calls with 3 microphones. Spatial audio and multi-point connectivity are also present.
The buds are IP54 rated, so they’re resistant to sweat and rain. The Xiaomi Buds 5 cost CNY 700 ($97/€89/₹8,000).
