While nothing has been confirmed yet, it is very likely that the much-awaited Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya-starrer Dune 3 will release in the winter of 2026. Various US media outlets reported that Warner Bros recently updated its international release calendar with a headline that reads, ‘Untitled WB/Legendary/Denis Villeneuve Event Film in IMAX.’
The said film – which is speculated to be ‘Dune 3’ – will be released on December 18, 2026.
It’s still unclear if Villeneuve wants to adapt writer Frank Herbert’s Dune: Messiah, or create his own take on the story.
Dune: Part Two earned an impressive $711.8 million at the global ticket counter, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year.
Apart from Chalamet and Zendaya, the Dune series also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Léa Seydoux in pivotal roles.
The original film starred Oscar Isaac and Jason Momoa in key roles.
