Smashing machine earns premiere standing ovation
Directed by Beni Safi, the smashing machine is one of the most anticipated projects of Rock. The film tells the story of former UFC fighter Mark Kerr, in which Johnson is undergoing a significant physical change for the role.
Venice screening highlighted how much the film is attached to the audience, with applause for 15 minutes. The Rock, which is known for her strong, stoic appearance, could not keep her tears back as the response came out.
On social media, fans and critics praised his dedication to the role and courage physically and emotionally stepped into a very different version of themselves.
Why the rock now looks different here
Over the years, The Rock has been recognized for the manufacture of his muscles, a look that he did in his Hollywood career since his WWE wrestling days. But for the smashing machine, the actor decided to dilute his trademark physique.
This change has surprised many fans, recently shown a different version of the star with red-carpet paintings. His change is seen as one step away from his wrestling personality, in which speculation increases that he can never return to the WWE ring.
Nevertheless, Johnson has not completely rejected the possibility. For now, his focus remains on acting and is telling powerful stories such as a smashing machine, which is already ready to create an impact.
