Popular Tamil actor Abhinay Kingar, widely known for his role in Dhanush’s debut film Thulluvadho Ilamai, died on November 10, 2025, at the age of 44. The actor had been battling liver disease for the past few years and had recently requested financial assistance for his ongoing treatment.
Tamil actor Abhinay passes away at the age of 44
Chennai-based Tamil actor Abhinay will be cremated in the city. According to a report in India Today, the once-popular artiste had no surviving members in his family.
In light of this, Nadigar Sangam, the Tamil Artists Association, has requested its members to assess the situation and conduct the last rites of Abhinay.
Earlier, the actor had revealed that his health condition was serious, with doctors giving him a grim prognosis. In a video appeal that went viral, he said that he did not know how long he would live and shared that doctors had told him that he might only have one and a half years left.
For the past few years, Abhinay had been suffering from liver problems, forcing him to seek medical and financial help from others. As his medical expenses grew beyond his capacity, he reached out to the film industry and the public for help.
Among the first to support him was comedian KPY Bala, who responded to his plea and provided monetary assistance. The viral video also inspired many other industry colleagues to come forward. Reportedly, Dhanush contributed Rs 5 lakh for the actor’s medical treatment, while KPY Bala donated Rs 1 lakh.
Abhinay’s last public appearance was at a film press conference in Chennai a few weeks ago.
Who is Abhinay Kinger?
Abhinay Kingar was a Tamil and Malayalam film actor who appeared in several notable films over the years. He made his acting debut with the teen drama Thulluvadho Ilamai, starring Dhanush and directed by Selvaraghavan (credited to his father Kasthuri Raja).
The success of the film brought Abhinay recognition in the early 2000s, after which he appeared in films such as Junction, Success, Palaivana Solai, Endrendrum Punnagai and Vallavanukku Pullam Aayudham.
He also acted in Malayalam films like Kaiyathum Doorath (Fahadh Faasil’s debut film), Chitrakoodam and Virus.
Interestingly, Abhinay also worked as a dubbing artiste, lending his voice for Vidyut Jammwal in Thalapathy Vijay’s film Thuppakki and Suriya in Anjaan.
