Sunny Kaushal: I don’t pay attention to what is written about my personal life
Actor Sunny Kaushal discusses his approach to personal life amid public scrutiny and his views on modern-day dating in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in.

Actor Sunny Kaushal, who was recently seen in ‘Phir Aai Haseen Dilruba’, claims that he does not pay attention to what is written about his personal life. Sunny, who played the role of obsessive lover Abhimanyu in the film, has often been linked with his ‘The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye’ co-star Sharvari. However, both the actors have never said or accepted anything about their relationship.
In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Sunny revealed if he gets upset with his fans and the Internet’s curiosity about his dating life.
Sunny said, “I don’t think I am someone who pays much attention or thinks too much about what is written about my personal life. I understand that I am in the public eye, but the way I look at it is a little different. For example, today if people have liked my performance as Abhimanyu in ‘Phir Aaye Haseen Dillruba’ and they are sending me such lovely messages appreciating my performance, I don’t mind it. So, when they send me messages asking about my personal life or when I am asked personal questions, I don’t mind it.”

He added, “That’s because I don’t think I can dictate to people what to do or what not to do. After that, what I can do is choose how I want to respond. I can choose not to get involved and not respond to it.”
Sunny also added that he doesn’t ‘take all this so seriously’. “I understand and I have accepted that this is also a kind of love that people are giving me because they are interested in knowing about my personal life. It comes from a place of curiosity. If I, as a viewer, see something, or I am a fan of someone, I will also get curious and want to know what is happening in their life. I don’t make the whole situation heavy and let it take over me in any way that it upsets me. I believe that we are responsible to set our own boundaries and not tell people what they can or cannot do,” the actor shared.
Talking about the kind of lover Sunny is in real life and what he thinks about modern-day dating, he said, “I am a lover who can do anything and everything in love, but at the same time, I am also someone who tries to understand what the other person is thinking. I completely believe in getting involved. I don’t understand what casual dating is. After a point of time, when you are serious about someone, that is a commitment, and you need to be there for that person. That’s the only way you and that relationship will move forward.”
He added, “I don’t understand the circumstances, and I’ve never even been on a dating app. It’s too superficial to decide who I want to date based only on their looks. I want something beyond looks.”
Sunny Kaushal was a new artist in ‘Phir Aai Haseen Dilruba’ And he shared the screen with Taapsee Pannu and Vikram Massey, who reprised their roles as Rani Kashyap and Rishabh. The film is streaming on Netflix.
