‘Stree 2’ star Rajkummar Rao is riding high on the success after the film’s stupendous success at the box office. Recently, the star opened up about the film’s success and also answered questions about the change in his surname.

Speaking to YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra, Rajkummar said that he changed his name to avoid confusion as many people in the film industry are known by the same name.There is no such rule (of changing name after entering the industry). I never used a surname. My passport also had only Rajkumar (There is no such rule. I never used a nickname before. Even my passport says Rajkumar)

He said, “This is so that people don’t get confused about which prince you are talking about. Rajkumar Hirani, Santoshi, Gupta or this one. And Rao is a title given to Yadavs, so I started using it.”

In an earlier interview with News 18, the actor had also spoken about the success of Stree 2 and said, “We were sure that the film will get a lot of love because of the love that Stree 1 received. Stree has a huge fan-following. But these numbers are way beyond our expectations. We are very happy and over the moon and very grateful that this is happening with a film like Stree, because it is a very content driven film.”

Stree 2 has received an overwhelmingly positive response from both critics and audiences. It has crossed the coveted Rs 500 crore mark at the global box office.
