‘Stree 2’ entered its third weekend on Friday, August 30, and recorded its lowest single-day business ever. The horror-comedy collected Rs 7.75 crore on its third Friday, taking its 16-day total collection to Rs 440.80 crore, reported trade websites. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film earned Rs 291.65 crore in the first week and Rs 141.4 crore in the second week. ‘Stree 2’ set the record for the highest-grossing Bollywood film in the second week, surpassing Hindi films like ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Jawaan’ and ‘Pathan’.

Now, the film is expected to create some more box office records in its third weekend. With no competition in theatres this weekend, it should be easy for the film to cross the Rs 500 crore mark in India. It is just Rs 60 crore away from achieving this feat.
‘Stree 2’ is making great strides thanks to its strong content. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, the film has benefited the most from the positive response it has received from the audience on social media. In fact, it will continue its impressive run at the box office next weekend as well, despite two big new releases – Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ and Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘GOAT’.
To compete with the massive performance of ‘Stree 2’, both the new films will have to generate an extraordinary response among the audience.
