SS Rajamouli calls ‘Kalki’ trailer ‘power-packed’, surprised by Kamal Haasan’s look
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli watched the trailer of Nag Ashwin’s film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and praised the cast and crew. He also expressed surprise at Kamal Haasan’s look in the film.

Director SS Rajamouli called the trailer of ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ ‘power-packed’. Sharing a note on his X handle, the filmmaker expressed his surprise at Kamal Haasan’s look in the upcoming science-fiction film.
The new trailer of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released by its makers on Friday, June 21. Praising the clip, Rajamouli wrote on X, “This is a powerful trailer. It sets the right mood and tone to watch the film.” Praising the cast, he further added, “Amitabh ji, Darling (Prabhas) and Deepika’s characters have a lot of depth and are really interesting. I am still in awe of Kamal sir’s look and he is amazing as always. Can’t wait for Naagi (Naag Ashwin) to immerse you in his world on the 27th! (sic).”

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the science-fiction film stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani in the lead roles. The recently released trailer gives a detailed glimpse of a world that is not only filled with war but also with emotions. It also delves deeper into the story, introducing more characters apart from the lead cast.

The two minute and twenty-two second clip shows exactly what was expected: Deepika’s character is carrying Kalki, the upcoming avatar of Kali Yuga, in her womb. Ashwatthama can be heard saying, “God lives in your womb”, before he fights Bhairava (Prabhas’ character).
Apart from this, Kamal Haasan’s character has also been revealed in the trailer. The Tamil superstar is playing the role of a sage in this film directed by Nag Ashwin.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will release in theatres in multiple languages on June 27, 2024. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is being produced on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore, making it the most expensive film in India.
