Let us first understand what a taco is. It is a flatbread with vegetables, protein and dips in the center. Tacos usually come in a small portion which is a perfect dish for snacking or a full-sized meal. The best part is that it is affordable and has customization options too.

According to Smithsonian Magazine, the origin of the taco is unknown; however, some theories say it originated in the silver mines of Mexico in the 18th century. The report also states that “the first reference to the taco comes from the late 19th century, where the first type of tacos described were called tacos de minero – miners’ tacos.”
