Sonu Nigam washes Asha Bhosle’s feet, fans say- ‘She deserves this love and respect’
Sonu Nigam displayed an emotional gesture by washing the feet of veteran singer Asha Bhosle during the launch of her biography ‘Swarswamini Asha’. Several prominent personalities including actor Jackie Shroff and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat attended the event.
Sonu Nigam paid tribute to veteran singer Asha Bhosle by washing her feet during a book release function. Asha’s biography ‘Swarswamini Asha’ was released at a star-studded event on Friday, June 28. Actor Jackie Shroff and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat were also present.
In a video shared by ANI on X, Sonu sat near Asha’s feet, kissed them and washed them. Sonu then wiped Asha’s feet and bowed to her before leaving the stage.

Fans reacted positively to the move and praised Sonu’s respect for Asha.
Sonu wore a yellow kurta and white pyjama, while Asha wore a printed white saree. Sonu also gave a speech, in which he praised Asha and her late sister Lata Mangeshkar for their contribution to Indian music.
Mohan Bhagwat spoke about the Mangeshkar family’s dedication to music and patriotism. This biography, which compiles the works of 90 authors, includes rare photographs depicting Asha’s journey.
Jackie Shroff paid tribute to Asha by touching her feet and presenting her a vase of flowers. Asha also recalled her association with VD Savarkar. Her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar was also present at the ceremony.
