Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee starrer ‘Chalte Chalte’ was earlier offered to Ameesha Patel. However, the actress could not be a part of the film as she claims that her secretary never informed her about it. Recently, the Gadar 2 actress revealed how Shah Rukh Khan reacted to the actress’ decision to walk out of the film.
Recently, during a conversation with BeautybyBiE, Ameesha Patel talked about the ups and downs of her career. He said that he never regretted any decision in his life. Still, there will always be “what ifs.” The actress clarified her point by mentioning that she did not do that film due to various reasons.
The actress shared that she could not be a part of some films due to unavailability of dates, or she could not see her playing the role, while in some she did not have a role due to unknown reasons. He admitted that some of his films were highly successful, while some were unsuccessful. After this he talked about Shahrukh Khan’s film Chalte Chalte and said that he never knew that he was offered this role.
“When the film was about to release and Shahrukh was dubbing for it, he took me to the dubbing studio and showed me some edits. He said, ‘Come, let me show you some edits of some footage from the film that you rejected.’ I replied, ‘Shahrukh, what have I forbidden?’ And he said, ‘This movie,'” the actress recalled.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan earlier this year, Ameesha highlighted how there was a divide between the work she was given and the people managing her work. “For a long time, there was a hierarchy of secretaries and managers; He did not allow the actor to get projects. There was a lot of it,” he said.
He also named people like Yash Chopra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sajid Nadiadwala, whom he said were “afraid” to approach him because of the person who managed them.
Ameesha made a comeback last year with Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 alongside Sunny Deol. The 2001 sequel was released last year and saw her reprising the role of Sakina. This film emerged as one of the highest grossing films of Bollywood.
