Shabana Azmi was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, Rs 10 lakh by Sidaramaiah
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honored Shabana Azmi with the Lifetime Achievement Award and examined Rs 10 lakh. Javed Akhtar was also present on a special occasion.

As part of the 16th International Film Festival held in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honored the legendary Indian actor and multilingual actor Shabana Azmi with a lifetime achievement award at the Cauvery Niwas. The award was presented with an investigation of Rs 10 lakh. Famous poet, lyricist and Azmi’s husband Javed Akhtar was also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recalled Shabana Azmi’s work, saying, “We really love visual poetry, Mile Sur Mera Tuhara. I have seen you in it.”

Reacting to this, the Chief Minister said that Karnataka Bhajan is home to mythological Hindustani classical musicians like Joshi, Kumar Gandharva, and Gangubai Hurl, all of whom meet Dharwad.

He also mentioned that as soon as the Copyright Act has been beneficial for the performance of artists and musicians, he would advocate for a more artist -friendly approach to taxation in the GST Council.
Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were welcomed by Government Secretary Kaveri, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor KV Prabhakar, and Information and Public Relations Commissioner Hemant Nimbalkar.
Additional Chief Secretary LK ie, Sadhu Kokila, President of Karnataka Chanchich Pranch Pachrch Academy, and Vidya Shankar, artistic director of the 16th International Film Festival, were also present at the event to increase their honor.
