Run BTS’s expansion Run Jin is back. Kim Seokjin returns with his first variety show after completing his military service. For the first episode, he set out to climb the Hallasan mountains in Jeju.

The episode began with Jin packing his essentials in his hotel room. The musician gave fans several entertaining moments throughout the episode. His fidgeting with the mic and camera was hilarious to watch. Soon, he left for a hike and the team gave him tasks to win a coffee break.

Jin began climbing Hallasan at 5:50 am and while the first hour of the trek seemed like a cake walk for the newly discharged elite soldier, Jin faced quite a few challenges during the climb, especially when he reached the red zone. He was asked to bring five people to give him congratulatory messages in exchange for a special lunch. During the trek, the most heartwarming episode was one in which he was seen interacting with children who gave him a honey stick as a gift.

In the second task, Jin called Chef Baek Jung-won to play a “guess where I am” game. His relationship with Baek is quite famous, and it served as another highlight from the pilot. Jin finally managed to complete his trek and was seen happily posing amidst the countryside. He concluded the episode by rewarding himself and the staff with some well-earned ‘jri mulhwae’ (a Korean dish).

The first episode of Run Jin was a treat for fans who missed the BTS-style entertainment that Run BTS usually showcased. The highlights of the upcoming episode added to the excitement, with Jin visiting a high school and challenging Gen Z, among other things.

New episodes of Run Jin will stream on YouTube every Tuesday.
