With the second season of The Rings of Power just around the corner, fans are all excited to know about the plot and the possibility of some characters returning in the upcoming installment of this widely-watched fantasy drama. With eight episodes, the first season of The Rings of Power aired in September 2022.
After The Rings of Power season 1 ended, the plot has left behind many questions about certain characters and their relationships with each other. From the bond between Morgoth’s two servants, Sauron and Aedon, to Sauron’s quest for redemption after Morgoth’s fall, The Rings of Power season 2 needs to answer many questions.
What happened between Morgoth’s servants, the Adar and Sauron?
Both Sauron and Adar are servants of Morgoth. When Adar was captured by Galadriel and Helbrand, he did not recognize Helbrand as Sauron. He also claims to have killed Sauron, who is seen experimenting with the orcs, whom Adar treats like his children. This matches perfectly with author Tolkien’s writings, which show that Sauron has been approaching the elves in disguise to hide his infamous identity. Hopefully in the second season of Rings of Power, we may get more light on the backstory of Adar’s plan and plot to kill Sauron.
Where are Nori and the Stranger going together?
After encountering the White Robes, the Stranger decides to head to Roon to learn more about himself. Nori accompanies him to Roon while Popley stays behind. In Roon, the two come across the famous constellation The Hermit’s Hat, behind which the Stranger has been searching all season to find answers to all the questions about his powers and identity.
Why is Galadriel hiding Sauron’s identity?
After confronting Helbrand, Galadriel enchants him and flees. However, she is found by Elrond and confronts Helbrand. She deliberately suggests to Elrond and Celebrimbor that Helbrand may never return, and that they should never work with him again. The second season’s story may answer questions ranging from Galadriel not sharing Helbrand’s true identity to her being tempted by the Ring’s power.
Where is the famous elf Cirdan now?
From the first season of the series, it was clear that the three rings were made by the elves, but they were worn by Elrond, Cirdan, and Galadriel. However, the producers of the fantasy series told media outlet Time that Cirdan will join the cast of The Rings of Power Season 2. Undoubtedly, Cirdan is one of the oldest elves in the fantasy drama. The beard on his face is clearly a sign of his old age, as the other elves are completely clean-shaven.
What is the angle of Celeborn, Galadriel’s husband?
In an episode of the first season of The Rings of Power, Galadriel reveals that along with her brother she has also lost her husband Celeborn. Celeborn played a key role in the battle with Sauron. In The Lord of the Rings, Celeborn sits with his wife Galadriel and takes over Lothlórien. According to Tolkien’s stories, Galadriel and Celeborn give birth to Celebrían, who marries Elrond, and they give birth to Arwen, who marries Aragorn.
However, it is clear why the producers of The Rings of Power did not want to go further with the character of Celeborn in season 2, as they wanted to highlight the possibility of a romantic relationship between Helbrand and Galadriel. Galadriel clearly disapproves of Celeborn’s return. Even her relationship with her husband is questionable, as she has talked about the loss of her beloved brother several times in the first season, but only once has she mentioned her husband Celeborn.
How did Isildur survive the Mount Doom eruption?
Isildur is the man who ultimately cuts the ring from Sauron’s hands. His hunger for power leads him to throw the ring into the fires of Mount Doom as instructed by Sauron. However, the character of Isildur is not dead and he is an ancestor of Aragorn.
The show’s creators have hinted at Isildur’s character transformation in the first season of The Rings of Power when he was trying to save some Southland citizens after the massive eruption of Mount Doom. His father had thought him dead, but The Rings of Power season 2 has an interesting plot twist regarding Isildur, and fans will definitely find out how he survived the explosion.
The Rings of Power Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video on August 29, 2024.
