Zack Snyder once again presents his vision with the Extended Director’s Cut!
After releasing his much-talked-about Justice League Snyder Cut, the director has come up with another cinematic universe through his sci-fi epic Rebel Moon. It is evident from the trailer that the level of galactic wars, graphic scenes, and bloody physical violence is much higher than the original Rebel Moon films.
Rebel Moon Director’s Cut release date and more
The Extended Director’s Cut versions of Rebel Moon – Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness will be released on Netflix on August 2.
The streaming platform’s official logline reads, “A peaceful settlement on a moon in the farthest part of the universe finds itself under threat from the forces of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Cora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.”
Korra assembles a small group of warriors – who share a common need for redemption and revenge – to face the challenge that lies before them. “When the shadow of an entire realm falls on the most unexpected moon, a new army of heroes is formed.”
Though the original Rebel Moon films were two hours long, Snyder has promised to add about an hour of additional content to his version.
Zack Snyder talks about the Rebel Moon Director’s Cut
Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, the director revealed that with the director’s cut version fans will get to explore a lot more and delve deeper into the sci-fi world. “(It’s) a deeper dive, which I’ve notoriously done throughout my career,” he said.
Though Snyder doesn’t remember how the Director’s Cut became a thing, he does remember struggling to present his original vision, which no one wanted at the time. “It was this bastard child that I was always trying to put together because they thought there was a darker version of it.”
However, he revealed that releasing the Snyder Cut on Netflix was part of his plan from the beginning and that he shot some scenes specifically for it. He called the Director’s Cut version a “revelation”, especially for die-hard fans.
