Actor Ranbir Kapoor and Yash -led Ramayana are currently one of the most awaited Bollywood films. It has a star-stamped dress and is making headlines even before its release. The latest actor Vivek Oberoi is planted in the war drama. Now, Arun Govil excavated Ranbir to play the role of Lord Ram.
Arun Govil woke up for fame with the Ramayana of Ramanand Sagar, where he played the role of Lord Ram. However, in the mythological drama of Nitesh Tiwari, he will be seen in the role of King Dasaratha. In an interview with NDTV recently, Arun Govil said, “Three-four people tried to re-make it, but they were not successful. I don’t think someone should try to re-make Ramayana again during our lifetime.”
While doing a subtle excavation in Ranbir Kapoor, the actor shared, “As far as some actor Ram (is concerned), all the available actors, playing all the stars at this time – I don’t think anyone is suitable. You might find someone outside the industry.”
Earlier, talking to Hindustan Times, Sunil Lahiri expressed his disappointment on Arun Govil, depicting Dasharatha in the upcoming film. He felt that by playing this role, he was reducing the prestigious image created as Lord Ram. Sunil said that if he was offered a similar role, he must have rejected it. Referring to Arun as an elder brother, he mentioned that out of honor, he would not have accepted any other part.
Meanwhile, apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Arun Govil, Ramayana acts as KGF star Yash, Goddess Sita as Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, as Lord Hanuman, as Lara Dutta Kayke, as Rakul Preet Singh and acts as Sarpanak and Vinak Oberoi as Rakul Preet Singh. Apart from him, the film also includes Ravi Dubey, Indira Krishnan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor, Kajal Aggarwal and others.
The Ramayana will be released in two parts in the theater. The first part Diwali is closed to hit theaters in 2026. Meanwhile, Part Two will be released at Diwali 2027. Both parts are being shot together, at one time, and are currently in production.
