The 97th Academy Awards recently concluded as it honored the 2024 films and talent. Amid the craze, Pinkvilla conducted a survey to allow fans to choose an Oscar-namine Hindi film, which made him the most emotional and left a huge impact. He has now selected his winner. The pole to determine the Oscar-nominated Hindi film, which leaves the greatest emotional impact on the audience, was held on March 3, 2025. Readers were asked to choose between five options: Lagaan, Anuja, Mother India, Salaam Bombay and The White Tiger.
Voting was open for two days. According to votes, fans were the most emotional film Lagaan. It secured 70% of the votes, followed by Mother India, which increased to 20%. Salaam Bombay secured 10% of the votes.

Lagaan is a sports drama film released in 2001. It starred Aamir Khan in the lead role. The Ashutosh Gowarikar director wandered around the residents of a village, who defeated the British in a cricket game to avoid paying taxes. The film received a lot of praise for its story, performance and music. Lagaan was nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
Meanwhile, during the recent Oscar, Anuja earned nomination in the Best Live Action Short film. However, this Dutch lost to the film, I am not a robot.
Talking about other categories, Sean Baker’s Anora took five prizes of the house, including the best pictures. Mickey Madison won the best actress for her performance in the film. Anora also secured the best director, best original screenplay and best editing categories. Meanwhile, the Adrian Body was crowned the best actor for his performance in the film The Brutilist.
