In a recent podcast interview, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that he believes Meta and Apple are very different from each other in terms of their approach. Speaking on the “Acquired” podcast, Zuckerberg explained that he thinks Meta is the “opposite of Apple” in many ways and he didn’t mince words in pointing out some of the differences between the two tech giants.

Giving credit to Apple, Zuckerberg acknowledged that the company’s approach has worked for them. He said, “They take their time, polish everything to perfection and then release it.” According to him, this works for Apple and fits well with its culture. But when it comes to meta, things are done differently.

Zuckerberg explained that Meta focuses more on shipping products quickly and learning from feedback rather than achieving perfection from the start. “You want a culture that values ​​shipping and getting things out,” he said. In his view, it’s more important to get a product out there, see people’s reaction, and then improve it based on that feedback. For Meta, the emphasis is on learning and evolving quickly, rather than waiting until everything is flawless.

He also believes that constantly waiting for praise or recognition before releasing a product means missing out on valuable lessons. “If you wait until you get praise every time, you’re losing a lot of time when you could have learned a lot of useful things,” Zuckerberg said.

Earlier this year, he shared his thoughts on Apple’s new Vision Pro headset and made some comments about Apple’s dedication to “fanboys.” He’s also been very vocal about his frustration with Apple’s App Store policies, describing them as a “stranglehold” on the iPhone platform.

On the other hand, Apple CEO Tim Cook has not refrained from criticizing Meta, especially when it comes to privacy. Cook has often taken aim at Meta’s data collection practices, suggesting that Meta does not take enough steps to protect user privacy.
