In a conversation with The Indian Express, Lakshmi Manchu spoke at length about the difference between Hollywood and Indian cinema. She said that unlike Hollywood, there are a lot of “unnecessary people” on the sets in India.

She said that in Hollywood, actors pull their chairs and there is just one makeup and hair person for the lead actors. The actress further said that in India, there are a lot of people on the sets. She said, “Kyon chahiye itne logon? (Why do you need so many people?)”

Manchu said every actor brings four or five people with him. “The make-up artist has an assistant, the hair person has an assistant, and even the spot boy has an assistant. What’s going on?” he said.

Further, the Budugu actress discussed the cultural differences between Bollywood and the South industry. Manchu said that each film industry in India is different in terms of their troubles, and it is up to the actors to deal with them.

The actress moved to Mumbai last year in search of better work.

Laxmi shocked everyone with her honest and bold comments. However, in another interview with the Indian Express, she denied calling her family a hindrance. Moreover, she called the headlines misleading and called herself nothing without her father.
