A small child born in Kerala has crossed life-threatening medical challenges. The child who had a congenital liver disorder faced a series of life-threatening health crises, requiring immediate and ongoing medical intervention.

At the age of only four months, he passed through an important liver surgery called butcher operation, which is a surgical process for infants suffering from liver disorders.

Waiting for the liver transplant, the child signed the Kovid pneumonia, but eventually recovered under near supervision. For eight months, she was healthy enough to undergo a successful liver implants, although her journey was over.

A life-threatening shock

The child faced a tragic incident during his post-transplant recovery, where his tracheostomy tube (breathing tube) was displaced while transferring to the post-operative ward.

In those important minutes, she went into cardiac arrest due to lack of oxygen. This incident marked the beginning of a complex fight to save his life.

In May 2023, he was sent to Manipal Hospital in Bangalore to the airways and swallowing centers (CASC), where Dr. A multi -woller team led by Eve Raman took over the case.

While several ENT advisors recommended an open-airway reconstruction, the CASC team considered the safe, minimum invasive process.

Using the spread of delicate balloons, gradually pulling and widening its windpipe and steroid injections, he slowly restored its airways to breathe.

The delicate child from immunospressant drugs faced infections and failures, which required repeated hospitalizations. But his breathing improved with each intervention and careful follow -up.

In March 2024, his Trekiostomy Tube, who kept him alive, was removed, but he silenced his voice.

For the first time in a year, she could breathe without any help. His parents used to cry happily as he first heard the voice of his little girl. By November 2024, his airway was completely cured, and his tracheostomy path closed.

The CASC team noted that the Center has treated more than 2,750 children with such cases in the last 25 years – from newborns who are unable to breathe or swallow, who later grow up to play, play and flourish.

This young girl, once on the edge of existence, now breathes independently, plays, and makes her parents out of the voice that she feared they would never hear.

His story reminds us that the drug is not only about surgery and treatment – it is also about giving children and families a chance to dream and getting happy again.
