Kelly Rowland is one of Hollywood’s most versatile celebrities. The actor, media personality and popular singer has been a huge fan of one particular eatery in Houston. It is a popular eatery, which is not only famous for its delicious food but is also one of the biggest attractions as far as prominent Hollywood celebrities and famous politicians are concerned. Over the years This Is It has received words of praise from Michelle Obama, Mathew Knowles and Tina Knowles and Queen Bey.
Kelly Rowland recently poured her heart out when talking about her favorite restaurants in Houston during an interview with the respected entertainment outlet, People. The Seat Filler actor is set to work with Pepsi to promote This Is It as a part of the brand’s upcoming Local Eats Better with Pepsi program.
Kelly Rowland said-
“I have so many fond memories of This Is It that I still share with my eldest son,”
Talking about hospitality, he further said-
“The owner, Mr. Craig (Joseph), would ask everybody if they needed anything. It was a personal experience that you got. It was the fact that this black business owner had an establishment that people got so much love from, so much attention from, and of course, they got great food.”
Kelly Rowland revealed that she never used to discuss while eating in This Is It. She further said-
“It was more about fellowship than anything. We were coming from church, so we were talking about a lot of different things around the world, but it was usually about things we heard in church and just being silly and being kids because we were kids at the time.”
During an interview with People, the 43-year-old singer even said-
“Everything in This Is It is so delicious, but this particular meal, the green beans remind me of my mom, the pepper steak with rice and gravy is hot and full of love, and the peach cobbler is an amazing experience. You can eat it with a very cold Pepsi, and it’s incredible.”
Based on the campaign guidelines organized by Pepsi, anyone based in the United States can nominate their favorite local eateries on PepsiEatsLocal.com until October 31, 2024, and once qualified for the campaign, will be awarded an advertisement in that eatery’s name as well as a special dish in their honor – which can be ordered for free for a certain period of time.
Kelly Rowland also shot her own ad for her favorite Houston-based eatery. The video was filmed at This Is It. She said-
“When I tasted that peach cobbler again I was really transported there. It had been years since I had it. My eyes rolled up,”
he adds-
“I thought about opening a breakfast restaurant, but when I told my friends the title, I immediately changed my mind.”
Talking about the interiors and furniture of This Is It, Kelly Rowland even said-
“I was literally going to design the whole place in this beautiful forest, and it was going to be so beautiful. They said, ‘Kelly, no.’ I said, ‘All I’m saying is, you can make really cute, sexy words like ‘bottomless mimosa’ and things like that.’ They said, ‘Oh, please don’t do that.'”
However, it is rare to see a celebrity of such notable stature openly and happily endorsing an eatery. Kelly Rowland has not only set a great example but also openly supported the food and beverage industry.
