Kannada actor Upendra shared his thoughts on the arrest of actor Darshan in connection with the alleged murder of his fan Renukaswamy. In his post on X, Upendra mentioned that the case is being closely watched by people across the country. He advocated for a fair investigation in the high-profile case. So far, Divya Spandana, Ram Gopal Varma and Kiccha Sudeep have spoken openly about the ongoing case.

His post read, “The eyes of not only Karnataka but the whole of India are on the investigation going on for the last few days. A fair judgement and justice is awaited in the hearing of this high-profile case.”

He further said that there are some doubts in the minds of Renukaswamy’s family, the public, the media and Darshan’s fans. He appealed for some reforms that would ensure transparency in the way investigations are conducted in such high-profile cases.

Some of the suggestions he made are, “In any case, the video footage of the hearing of the case and all the details of the witnesses should be shared by the police with the families of the persons concerned from time to time. This should become a law. (Earlier the police used to record the details of interrogation in writing, but now technology has advanced so much that everything can be recorded and streamed live.)”

Upendra also clarified that transparent hearing would not allow tampering of evidence, interference by influential people and encourage corruption.

Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda and 10 others have been arrested for the alleged murder of a man named Renukaswamy. The man had allegedly sent abusive messages to Pavithra, which led to her abduction and she was found dead on the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru.
