Kamal Haasan has officially confirmed that he will work closely with superstar Rajinikanth for a new film. The announcement was made on stage at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), which sent fans into enthusiasm. This cooperation is a major moment for Tamil cinema as its two biggest icons come together after decades.

Kamal Haasan’s big announcement in Siyama

At the Siyama Awards, where Kamal Haasan won his role in Kalki 2898 AD, an experienced actor was asked if the audience could expect a film with Rajinikanth. Answering the question, Kamal said:

“We don’t know if it is a threat to Sambavam (amazing event), but it is good if the audience likes it. If they are happy, we will like it.

According to Hindustan Times, Kamal further said that there is no rivalry between the two legends. He said, “These are all of you who have thought/made competition. There is no competition between us. It is important that we got a chance to do so. That’s it, so I am. It can be a surprising, business-wise, but we at least now feel that it is happening. We always wanted to produce each other’s films.”

Will Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan Lokesh work with Kanagaraja?

While Kamal Haasan did not explain much information about the project, rumors suggest that director Lokesh Kanagaraj can dilute the film. Lokesh, who directed Kamal in Vikram, has earlier shared that he is a great fan of the actor. In the recent campaigner program for Rajinikanth’s porter, he mentioned that he planned a cameo in Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) and would like to bring Kamal as its part.

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have worked together in several classics during the early years of their career, including Apoorva Ragangal, Mondru Mudichu, Athygle and Patinaru Vyathinil. Fans have been waiting for decades to re -look at two share screen space, and this announcement has given rise to major enthusiasm.

Rajinikanth’s last film Kuli released last month and performed strongly at the box office. Kamal Haasan was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s thug life, which was found mixed reviews and is now available for streaming on Netflix.
