K-pop group Stray Kids takes first place on Billboard 200
K-pop group Stray Kids recently debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart. BTS’s Jimin’s latest album, Muse, earned the second spot.
K-pop sensation Stray Kids has added another feather to its already decorated cap. The music group bagged the first spot on the prestigious Billboard 200 after releasing its latest album, ATE. Meanwhile, BTS Jimin’s second album, Muse, bagged the second spot. This is the first time that the top two spots of the music chart belong to K-pop.
This is also the fifth time Stray Kids have topped the charts consecutively with ODDINARY, MAXIDENT, ROCK-STAR and 5-STAR in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
According to Luminate, Stray Kids’ ATE earned 232,000 album units upon its release.
The popular K-pop scene is busy. It recently collaborated with Marvel Studios to create the single ‘Slash’, which is featured in the Deadpool and Wolverine movies. Its stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman also appeared in Stray Kids’ now viral song ‘Chuck Chuck Boom’.
Meanwhile, BTS member Park Jimin’s new album, Muse, ranked second. Along with Jimin, five other members have also joined the army to complete their mandatory military tenure. BTS’ eldest member Jin completed his tenure on June 12.
