K-drama stars Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Hye Eun win big at Newsis K-Expo 2024
The 2024 Newsis Hallyu Expo held at The Great Hall of Josun Palace in Seoul honored the top stars of Korean entertainment, with Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Hye-yoon among the major award winners.

The 2024 Newsis Hallyu Expo, held at The Great Hall of Josun Palace in Seoul on August 22, celebrated some of the brightest stars in Korean entertainment. Top winners included Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Hye-yoon, who won major awards for their performances in ‘Queen of Tears’ and ‘Lovely Runner,’ respectively.
Kim Soo-hyun received the prestigious Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism award for his role in the tvN drama ‘Queen of Tears.’ The actor’s portrayal in the series has been widely praised, solidifying his status as one of Korea’s top actors.
Kim Hye-yoon was awarded the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman’s Award for her performance in the tvN series ‘Lovely Runner’.
Actress Go Min-si was also recognized at the event, receiving the Seoul Mayor Award for her work on Netflix’s ‘Sweet Home’ seasons 1-3. Reflecting on her achievement, Go Min-si said, “It means a lot to me to receive an award like this for a project I’ve been a part of for five years. I will continue to strive to create powerful stories that resonate not just in Korea, but around the world.”
Byun Yo-han was another notable winner, receiving the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman’s Award for his role in Disney Plus’ “Uncle Samsik.”
The 2024 Newsys K-Expo showcased notable talents within the Korean entertainment industry, highlighting performances that have captivated audiences domestically and internationally.
