John Abraham SS Rajamouli’s next to act with Priyanka Chopra: Report
Actor and producer John Abraham is allegedly replacing Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in an epic adventure film starring Mahesh Babu in an epic adventure film by director SS Rajamouli.
Actor and producer John Abraham will re-join SS Rajamouli’s next with Dostana’s co-star Priyanka Chopra, Bollywood Hungama said. Earlier, there were speculation about how Prithviraj Sukumaran was contacted for the part.
The film is being postponed as an action-adventure spectacle, which will show mainly to Mahesh Babu.
News24 quoted a source as saying, “Earlier, Prithviraj Sukumaran was considered for the role, but things could not be physical. Now, John will be seen sharing the screen with Priyanka Chopra. There will be some scenes and in Hyderabad.
On 2 January, SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s SSMB29 were launched in Hyderabad with a special worship ceremony. The director-actor pair was seen arriving at the aluminum factory in Hyderabad, which was decorated with flowers, banners and still from Rajamouli’s films.
SSMB29 shooting was kickstarted in January 2025. It is written by Vijayendra Prasad and directed by Rajamouli. This is set against the background of an epic adventure.
While the pair of Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra have created a lot of interest, full artists and crews have not been officially confirmed for SSMB29. A diverse lineup of talent in the film is expected. On the work front, Mahesh Babu was last seen in Guntur Karam, while Priyanka appeared in romantic comedy, Love Again.
