Sheikh Jani Basha popularly known as Jani Master is in the news for all the wrong reasons. The famous choreographer is accused of sexually abusing his 21-year-old female colleague multiple times. In the latest turn of events, the Ranga Reddy court on Wednesday (September 25) sent Jani Master to four-day police custody. The decision was taken to allow the police to investigate the case by questioning the choreographer.
According to a report by Hans India, Jani Master, who is currently lodged in Charlapalli jail, will be questioned by the police. The police believe that custodial interrogation may help them find out more about the heinous acts committed by him. It is pertinent to mention that Jani Master was arrested from Goa after his young female colleague accused him of sexually harassing her over the years.
The National Award-winning choreographer was then brought to Hyderabad and sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Further, investigation into the case revealed that Jani Master had allegedly assaulted the victim when she was a minor and hence the choreographer was also charged under POCSO.
Apart from the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, the Pushpa choreographer has also been charged under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Meanwhile, according to Telugu 360, Jani Master’s wife Ayesha will also be arrested soon for attacking the victim. Recently, she came for an interview with TV9 and spoke about her husband’s innocence. She had said, “The allegation that the woman was harassed when she was 16 years old is disgusting. There is no truth in it. If the girl can show proof, I will release Master.”
Additionally, Ayesha alleged that there was a bigger conspiracy behind the case to tarnish the public reputation of Jani Master.
